Warning: I copied this post from my dakkadakka forum blog, and amalgamated several posts into one blog post. Each post is in ascending chronological order going down the page.

Following hot on the heels of the creation of my Khorne warband blog comes this blog that celebrates the multitudes of the Adeptus Astartes.
I have had a space marine army for a while, from a custom chapter known as the Divine Exorcists (following a split from the Exorcists chapter). I will post some background for the chapter at some point, but this thread is not necessarily for them, but for all the space marines I will be finishing in the near future.
I will be painting some Dark Angels to use as allies in the army, for two reasons: (1) I have the Dark Vengeance box; and (2) I will be including Cypher and some Fallen Angels in my chaos undivided army, so the Divine Exorcists, though they are experts in tackling chaos, could use some help from the Deathwing in tackling these shady foes. Any other imperial units will also be used as allies in the DE army.

I finished a squad for the Divine Exorcists, so this army is nearly finished now (more pics of the whole army to come)
These Vanguard Veterans were a lot of fun to build and paint and I'm very pleased with my blending ability on the lightning claws.
I guess some people will wonder why I don't do that technique on all my models, but I guess I can't be bothered to do it on the majority of troops! I don't enjoy painting that much, so I tend to go through troops quickly, only lavishing lots of care on the special troops. And let's face it, Vanguard Veterans are special, aren't they? This squad can tear through anything. They certainly made mincemeat of a couple of squads of chaos space marines in their first battle!

Something stirs on Mars...

Eversor Assassin from the Officio Assassinorum game. This guy was a lot of fun to paint! I think I enjoyed painting something that wasn't in power armour...

Dark Angels Venerable Dreadnought. I bought this already built and painted from ebay, but it was in a black and gold colour scheme. I have therefore repainted to go in my burgeoning DA force. The bare metal parts are not my painting, but the rest is.

My Freeblade Knight is finally finished!
He doesn't have a name yet, but he will. All models such as this deserve a name and a history!

Hope you like!

I don't know why it's taking me so long to paint my assassins, because they're so easy to paint!
Here's a vindicare assassin!

All four assassins completed! I think these were designed to look good together, because they really are a coherent set.

This Interrogator-Chaplain model is one of the coolest minis GW has ever produced, and I just had to paint it!

Meet Assault squad Petrus of the Divine Exorcists. Their mission is to tear apart daemons in close combat, and they learned a lot about doing so when they helped the Space Wolves defeat a daemonic incursion on Saprara. They rescued a contingent of Space Wolves from almost certain death, and in gratitude the Space Wolves gave them gifts of wolf pelts and armour adornments that they still wear to this day.

Leviathan Dreadnought

Today's mini is a humble Leviathan Dreadnought. This is one of the Forge World ones, which I bought just before the plastic one came out...
