A Day of Chaos

I woke up today with a plan to set myself a challenge in order to get some painting done. That challenge was to paint 40 zombies (for 'The Unknown' warband) in one day. I only made these a day ago, so if they were to be finished today, that would be one of the most quickly produced units I had ever done... and I managed to do it! It's a very quick colour scheme, as I mentioned before, and so I thought it might be possible. What I didn't realise is that I would be finished before dinner and have time to paint something else!

Here are the zombies:

They are nice and colourful, I think! I converted a couple of them to have weapons or Cadian helmets.
The second thing I finished today was a Black Legion Predator, the Hail of Death. It has a modern rhino with OOP metal turrent and sponsons. It's nice and weighty with all that metal on it!

Divine Exorcists? I thought they were done?

Yes, at some point, I said that my Divine Exorcists army was done. I should have known that would be wrong! I got hold of some really cheap old dreadnoughts and some drop pods, and so some of these models would be good for bolstering the ranks of the Divine Exorcists space marines. All of these are second hand, and have been painted over the original paintjob (given that the original paintjobs weren't too thick). I do like a bargain. I have also started using a different camera, so hopefully these shots are more in focus than previous ones.

First, my first ever space marine drop pod!

Dreadnought Cratin Dioris. I now have four dreadnoughts for the Divine Exorcists.

And the two together!

Until next week!

I quite like these blue backgrounds

I've been busy this week, spurred on by the fact that my pictures have never looked better, and motivated by the sound of the audiobooks of the Horus Heresy series. These books are quite gripping, and there's nothing better to accompany an evening of painting!

Today's first model is a Dark Angels Razorback. The rhino is brand new, but the turret is reclaimed from an old model. It's slightly wonky, but as my friend Martin said, space marines are tramping around the galaxy, getting into trouble, so it makes sense that some of their equipment might fall into disrepair.

The second image is of some scenery - a few small houses for general use. I painted the walls red in the style of rural Swedish houses.

More next week!

Leviathan Dreadnought

Today's mini is a humble Leviathan Dreadnought. This is one of the Forge World ones, which I bought just before the plastic one came out...
